Weekly Overview: Pleasant fall week ahead

Another Monday morning is underway, which means it’s time for our weekly overview post! It is our hope that these posts can get you through the struggles of the next few hours at work. The weekend is a memory now — so it’s time to start talking to your coworkers or friends about anything good that happened, and well past the time to start forgetting about anything else. Anyway — a fast past weather pattern remains underway for this upcoming week — except this time, we’ll be on the good side of it, with only one brief chance for showers on Tuesday afternoon. Otherwise, the weather looks extremely pleasant. Temperatures will still be a hair below normal, with highs in the 70’s and cool nights.

Express-Cast

Today: Sunny, highs near 70. | Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows mid 50’s.

The pattern in the mid and upper levels will remain generally progressive during the upcoming week, despite the cool temperatures. Monday, off to a cool start already, will end up being quite pleasant with highs in the lower 70’s and a light breeze. We could start to see some mid/high clouds advecting in late, but they won’t be too big of a deal.

The only unsettled day of the upcoming week looks to be Tuesday. A quick, moderately strong mid level disturbance will move from the Great Lakes through the interior Northeast, with a weak low pressure system passing to our north and west. This will aid in the development of some showers, which will shift from PA through the Northern Mid Atlantic and New England later Tuesday. This system will shift quickly seaward by Tuesday night and west-northwesterly winds will develop once again.

Cool nights will be commonplace from mid to late week, with dry winds and pleasant weather. Highs in the lower 70’s are expected from Wednesday through Friday, with temperatures falling into the 40’s and 50’s overnight. As usual, overnight temperatures will be warmer in the urban areas and noticeably cooler in the interior and higher elevations.

On the positive sign of all of this, high temperatures in the lower 70’s will be common — and we aren’t expecting any gusty winds or uncomfortable humidity. In fact, the weather will be exceedingly pleasant. The next chance of organized precipitation won’t come until next weekend.
