Beautiful weather from this weekend has carried over in to Monday – finally! High clouds are moving in to the region this afternoon, marking the start of a changing pattern. Light winds have allowed for the development of some seabreezes along the area shores. Otherwise, the weather remains calm and benign. The pattern will kick up again in terms of activity – including the potential for heat, humidity and storms, starting on Tuesday.
The cooler/dry airmass that has been present over the Northeast is now a thing of the past! Warmer/more humid conditions are now in place, along with the threat of some showers this evening. High pressure will gradually build into the Northeast this weekend, making for an overall great weekend.
Unfortunately, the fickle weather conditions that have plagued our area look to continue through Mothers Day weekend. While Saturday may start off decent, more wet and unseasonably cool conditions are on the horizon!
Widespread showers and thunderstorms have developed across much of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states this afternoon. Heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning will all be possible later this evening/tonight for much of the NYC area!
