Some Snow Likely in the Northeast Tuesday & Wednesday

Good morning! Very cold temperatures are again starting this week. A mixture of sunshine and clouds are expected for today. Highs will be in the mid-upper 20s. Cold and dry conditions will continue into tonight. But clouds will be increasing, as the next storm system approaches the Northeast. Temperatures will near steady for most of the night.

A large positively-tilted trough will begin moving into the Eastern US on Tuesday. A clipper low associated with northern stream shortwave energy along this trough will drag a cold front into the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region tomorrow. Moisture will be initially limited with this system overall. But some bands of light snow will be developing, over the Interior areas morning and midday hours. Then these bands will be moving into the coastal areas during mid-late afternoon or early evening hours.

5.30 PM Zones Update: Warmer with Some Strong T-Storms Possible Wednesday

Good evening! Despite the dreary weather, we hope you had a good day! An onshore flow with low-level moisture underneath inversion will likely continue to keep mostly cloudy skies into tonight. Temperatures this evening will likely remain steady in upper 50s to lower 60s. A few more scattered showers are possible through the evening, as frontal boundary continues to approach. But stronger thunderstorms over central parts of New York and Pennsylvania should weaken and fall apart as the move into a more stable marine airmass over the region. Temperatures with the cloud cover will not likely drop out of the 50s overnight, over most of the region.

5.23 Midday Zones Update: Close Call with Rain Tonight & Wednesday AM, More Rain Likely Thursday

Good afternoon! Plenty of high clouds will continue to be around for rest of this afternoon. But sunshine will filter or break through these clouds and temperatures rise into the lower to middle 70s, over the much of region this afternoon. These clouds are from a broad area of low pressure developing along tale end of frontal boundary over the Southeast US. This low will organize and consolidate over the Carolinas this evening, as it will be more sandwiched in between upper-level jet streaks. This will cause clouds will thicken more this evening. But weak high pressure should keep most of the region dry, during the evening hours.

2/28 Late AM All Zones Update: Mild Weather Continues, Severe T-Storm Threat Wednesday

Unseasonable mild weather continues today with a strong mid-level ridge over the region. A mixture of clouds and sunshine is expected to with temperatures warming into the upper 50s to lower 60s over much of the region this afternoon. Some parts of Central or Southern NJ may even reach the middle 60s. While some coastal locations might only rise into middle 50s with southerly winds off the water.
