Yankees Forecast: Humid, dodging a few storms

We’re excited to bring you weather forecast information on the days of Yankees, Mets, and other outdoor sports team home games in New York City. If any inclement weather is anticipated, this forecast will include a breakdown of the hazards and timing. If delays or postponement appear possible, details will be provided.

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and early evening, developing from the west and moving east/northeast. These storms are not expected to be severe, but may bring periods of moderate to heavy rain.

4:20pm Update: Scattered showers and storms still exist across the area at this hour. A prefrontal boundary exists over Eastern PA and will slip eastward through NJ and NYC over the next few hours. Thunderstorms will remain possible until sunset, when the coverage and intensity of storms is expected to significantly decrease. While no storms are currently tracking toward the NYC area, a rain delay would still be possible if a storm does pop up before the frontal boundary passes by.
