Extended Forecast Discussion
By next week, temperatures are expected to trend warmer throughout the area. Most forecast models agree that a ridge of high pressure will develop across the Central and Eastern United States. This will help advect warmer than normal air towards the region.
A few areas of showers and thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday, but the main focus of the forecast will be the warmth. Ensemble data suggests that over a 5 day period, temperatures could average several degrees above normal.

In the longer range, hazardous weather impacts currently appear rather limited. Tropical activity looks to take a brief hiatus, before returning later in the season. The potential for widespread severe thunderstorm events also appears limited.
After this past week, this is much welcomed news. We could all use a bit of a break!
