Dry, calm weather to continue in NYC as foliage perks up

High pressure will remain in control for the next few days, with calm and dry weather expected. Temperatures will remain cooler and crisp through the end of the week, before warming up this weekend. High temperatures may eventually reach several degrees above normal.

No precipitation threats are expected in the Northeast, and particularly in the NYC Metro Area, until at least the early part of next week. Instead, conditions are expected to remain calm and warm. Given the active and stormy patterns that often dominate the areas weather this time of year, this weekend should be especially enjoyable.

Active weather may return to the forecast by Monday, as a frontal system sinks southward from New England. This front is expected to bring an increased chance for showers and storms. Even so, most guidance suggests it will slide by to our south, with improving weather again from Tuesday through the middle of next week.

All in all, there’s nothing but good news to report here. Comfortable temperatures with very limited chances for precipitation or hazardous weather. It doesn’t get better than that.

Foliage perking up across New England

After a period of wet and active weather, the warm and dry conditions have kickstarted foliage across much of New England. This is especially true across Upstate New York, Vermont and New Hampshire.

Colors should begin to advance quickly in the next 7 days, becoming more vibrant and shifting southward. Those planning foliage trips either this coming weekend or next weekend will likely be rewarded with expanding colors and beautiful weather to enjoy it in.

Stay tuned for further foliage updates as we move into the peak season in the next two weeks.
