Monday AM Briefing: Light Snow for Parts of the Northeast Tonight & Tuesday

Good morning! After a pretty mild weekend with more clouds and some rainfall on Sunday, much colder air begins returning for a few days this week. We also continue to watch a storm system for tonight and tomorrow. However, the latest model data and observation continue to point to a nuisance event for most areas at best.

First during the day today, plenty of mid-high level clouds will be around as low pressure near the Southeast US coast begins to organize and move northeastward. Best chance for some sunshine will during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Temperatures will still remain several degrees above normal. But it will feel chiller than compared over weekend. High temperatures will be in the lower to middle 40s.

Monday Overview: Pleasant weather today…warming trend for the week

This past weekend was kind of dreary overall with more clouds and showers around. But early this week, is look more beautiful. Some clouds may mix with sunshine at times today. But more sunshine is anticipated today with high pressure over the region. Temperatures will rise into lower 80s over much of region this afternoon with light northerly winds. These temperature are few degrees below average. But it will still feel pleasant overall with low humidity.

This pleasant weather will continue into tonight, with any clouds during the evening hours clearing overnight. Temperatures dropping into the middle to upper 60s over much of the region. Overall this week’s weather looks benign, until Thursday and Friday when some heat and thunderstorms likely return to region. Here are some highlights for this week:

Monday Musings: Changeable Weather This Week

Summer officially starts at 6:34pm today! The weather will cooperate, and it will certainly feel likely summer over the next few days throughout the area.

Our stretch of pleasant, sunny and very warm weather will continue to start the week. Temperatures over the NYC metro will likely reach the lower to middle 80s by early this afternoon underneath plentiful sunshine. Sea-breezes again this afternoon will cause a wide range of temperatures when comparing the area shores to inland locations.High temperatures are expected to range from the middle to upper 70s over Long Island and New Jersey shore, to the upper 80s to near 90 over inland areas of New Jersey.
