AM All Zones Update: 80s Inland Today! Cooling Down Rest of the Week… Some T-Storms Easter Sunday?

Good morning and Happy Tuesday! A taste of early summer weather in store for region today, as strong ridge continues to dominate over the region. Mostly sunny skies are expected today. A deeper southwest flow with 850mb temperatures 14°C to 15°C will support highs lower to middle 80s, much of NJ, NYC and the Lower Hudson Valley. Some records highs may be jeopardy across the region, including Newark at 87 and Central Park at 84, both from 1955. Meanwhile southwest winds and sea-breezes off the colder ocean and sound, will once again keep areas closer to coastline cooler in 60s to lower 70s for highs today.

4/04 All Zones AM Update: Strong T-Storms Possible This Afternoon, Larger Storm Likely Thursday

Happy Tuesday! Heavy rains from overnight have moved out most of the region quickly this morning, as best forcing with a strong low-level has shifted northeast into New England. Thus flood watches for New Jersey and Lower Hudson Valley have been cancelled, with more significant flooding no longer anticipated for today. It will remain mostly cloudy with some showers, drizzle or patchy fog the rest of morning, as a the warm front remains to the south.

2/27 AM All Zones: Warming Trend, More T-Storms Wednesday, Friday Clipper

Happy Monday morning to you! High pressure, drifting off the Mid-Atlantic coast, will provide more pleasant and benign weather today. Sunshine will mix with more fair weather clouds this afternoon, but warmer than normal temperatures in the lower to middle 50s will return with southwest winds today — a big difference from yesterday’s northwest winds and cold air.

Clouds will gradually be on the increase tonight as a warm-air advection strengthens, well ahead of storm system tracking into Great Lakes. This will keep temperatures from dropping much overnight, without any good radiational cooling occurring. Mostly cloudy skies are expected to remain in place through Tuesday as the atmosphere remains unsettled. Enough low-level moisture may be around for some light showers or drizzle during the afternoon.
