Pleasant Weather Today, Isolated PM T-Storms Tuesday, More Unsettled Late Week

Good Morning and Happy Monday! Today will be another pleasant warm day. This will allow for a return flow and more mid-high level clouds to filter and mix with sunshine as the day goes on. Humidity will also increase a little bit later this afternoon. But overall it will be pleasant warm summer day, with high temperatures in the lower to middle 80s this afternoon. A light southeast flow may keep temperatures slightly cooler along the shore.

Partly cloudy skies are expected through tonight  A weak upper-level disturbance will be moving through early tonight. But there will be little or no instability tonight. So only a slight chance for some isolated showers. Most areas will be dry. Some areas of patchy fog may also develop late tonight, especially along coastal areas, as onshore flow enhances low-level moisture underneath inversion. Cloud cover will keep temperatures warmer tonight. Low temperatures will likely be in the lower to middle 60s over the Interior areas and in upper 60s to near 70 over more urban and coastal areas.

Premium PM Update: Very Warm, More Humid Midweek…More Unsettled Late Week

After some cooler than normal and dreary weather much of last week, more summer-like weather returns this week. This afternoon we already saw temperatures in the mid-upper 80s. The next few days will feature warmer than average temperatures. However, more unsettled weather may be arriving by the end of this week, as a large trough and frontal boundary approaches from the west. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Emily over Florida today, will be moving out to sea later this week.

First for tonight, mostly tranquil and comfortable conditions are expected. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms that developed over Interior NY and PA, will diminish this evening, as a surface trough and instability weakens. Then skies will be clear to partly cloudy for the rest of tonight, with low temperatures ranging from the 60s over the Interior to lower 70s near the coast. If skies clear enough, some of the interior valleys and Pine Barrens may drop into the mid-upper 50s by daybreak, with more radiational cooling. Some areas of patchy fog may also develop over Interior valleys overnight.

Memorial Day Weekend serves, for many, as the unofficial start to summer. Here’s the hoping the atmosphere is thinking the same. All Zones Late AM Update: Cooler for Late Week, Warmer with Possible T-Storms Easter Sunday

Happy Wednesday! More clouds and scattered showers are likely over the region, as a cold front and shortwave trough move through. Some weak instability could lead to some isolated thunderstorms and heavy downpours. There is a low chance that the Yankees vs Rays game in the Bronx could be delayed today. But most of this activity, may remain just north and west of NYC, where forcing is likely to be stronger.
