Coldest Air of the Season Arrives This Week

Good afternoon, NYC! Today turned out to be a pleasant Autumn day, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s to around 60. A cold front behind the storm that brought rain a few days ago passed through, giving us our nice weather today, despite northwest winds gusting to 20mph this evening.

Rain, blustery winds expected in NYC through Saturday

Another coastal storm will impact the area starting tonight, with periods of rain and gusty winds expected to continue through Saturday. While not as strong as the last coastal storm, this storm will still pack a bit of a punch. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the NYC Metro and Long Island through Saturday.

Unsettled weather will return Friday and Saturday

While the sun is shining and a beautiful fall day is anticipated today, an active and unsettled weather pattern is expected to continue later this week. Another coastal storm will develop, this one much weaker and more progressive than the last. Still, periods of rain are anticipated from late Friday into Saturday and onshore flow will result in blustery winds and some flooding near the area shores.
