Here comes summer: A heat wave is expected in NYC this week.

After a slow start to the season, with lots of rain and clouds, the weather has warmed significantly over the past week or two. This will come to a climax this week, when temperatures will reach near or over 90 degrees for several consecutive days. The heat will build as the week goes on, peaking by the end of the week and weekend. On Friday and Saturday in particular, forecast models suggest that temperatures could exceed 95 degrees and heat index values could exceed 100.

Thankfully, this calm weather is likely to last right through the weekend and into the beginning of next week! NWS Confirms EF-1 Tornado in Mount Laurel on Thursday

The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Mount Laurel, NJ shortly after 7:00pm on Thursday. This marks the second tornado in just five days, after an EF-0 tornado touched down in the same area on July 6th. Thursday’s tornado was stronger, with maximum wind speeds of 90 miles per hour.

Wednesday Briefing: Storms possible Thursday, warm conditions dominate!

Today has been yet another warm/hot day across the entire Northeast. Tomorrow (Thursday) may feature some heavy showers and thunderstorms across the area, but nothing too impactful overall. Showers will likely linger into the beginning of Friday but should clear out just in time for the weekend!
